The Pharmacy Department employs 60 FTEs at the Bethlehem Campus and 18 FTEs at the Allentown Campus. Both departments are open 24 hours-a-day and provide after-hours support to the other non-24 hour network hospitals.
The department utilizes automation and robotics for medication distribution. The pharmacy information system is integrated with the nursing information system as well as the computerized prescriber order entry application. Bar-code medication verification is utilized at the bedside. The Pharmacy Department utilizes data-mining software to provide up-to-date patient information and to identify patients for pharmacist intervention.
